Christmas Message from the CFCUSA National Council

December 25, 2016

Dear CFC USA Family:
As we celebrate the most awaited Christmas season of 2016, we, the members of the CFC USA National Council would like to share with you our personal reflections using our CFC theme for 2016 of REJOICE, PRAY and GIVE THANKS.
REJOICE – After our spiritual and joyful preparations during the Advent season, we continue to REJOICE in the birth of our Savior, Redeemer and Lord Jesus Christ. Let us celebrate with joy and merriment, with gifts and Christmas carols, with parties and get-togethers with family, friends and CFC brethren. However, let us bear in mind that the infant child who is the King of kings and born in poverty in a lowly manger asks us to share our time, talent and treasure to those who are most in need, who are hurting, who have nothing to eat, who are freezing in the cold of night…the lost, least and last.
PRAY – Most of us are excited to open the wrapped gifts from our loved ones underneath the Christmas tree. The 3 wise men gifted Baby Jesus with frankincense, gold and myrrh. May our most precious gift to our Birthday Celebrant be the priceless gift of PRAYER, this season and beyond. Let us commit to spend daily quiet time with God, to be faithful to our Holy Hour, to pray the Rosary as a family, to meditate on Scripture, to listen to His sweet, silent voice.
GIVE THANKS – Finally, in all things, let us have an attitude of gratitude, to have a thankful heart! Let us thank our loving God for His unconditional love for and endless mercy to us. Let us show our gratitude by prayerfully discerning and faithfully obeying His perfect Will in our lives. One BEST way to give thanks is to try our very best to go to Mass every day to receive the free and beautiful gift of His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. Remember that Eucharist means Thanksgiving.
This Christmas, let us ask our Lord to answer the prayers He will never refuse to say ‘Yes’ to – to love Him more dearly and to give us the strong desire to be a Saint!
We, the members of the CFC USA National Council would like to say “Thank You” to all of you for your continued support of our CFC mission and vision, and to greet you and your family a most blessed Christmas and a 2017 full of hope!

Your CFC USA National Council

Prayer After An Election: U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops

Prayer After An Election

U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops

God of all nations, Father of the human family,

we give you thanks for the freedom we exercise

and the many blessings of democracy we enjoy in these United States of America.

We ask for your protection and guidance

for all who devote themselves to the common good,

working for justice and peace at home and around the world.

We lift up all our duly elected leaders and public servants,

those who will serve us as president, as legislators and judges,

those in the military and law enforcement.

Heal us from our differences and unite us, O Lord,

with a common purpose, dedication, and commitment to achieve liberty and justice

in the years ahead for all people,

and especially those who are most vulnerable in our midst.

Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the United States of America, pray for us.
