CFCUSA National Council – Jan 1, 2017 to Dec 31, 2018

Dear CFCUSA Brethren,

Br. Cholo Labog, CFCUSA Country Coordinator, has given me the honor of announcing to all of you that CFCUSA is blessed to have a new set of National Council with a new National Director that will serve from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018 (see attached official memo). It is my prayer and request that you afford them the same support and prayers you have afforded me and the current National Council. We will still be here until the end of the year, and after that, you can count on your current NC to continue the same level of passion in serving the Lord through all of you. Again, with great joy and excitement let us welcome the new set of CFCUSA-National Council and offer them our prayers. Thank you once again for all your love and support through the years. May God be praised!

Your brother in Christ,

There is POWER in PRAYER!

There is POWER in PRAYER!

Dear brethren:

There is POWER in PRAYER!

TODAY Sunday October 30, 2016, is DAY 1 of the 9 day Novena for our Nation’s election.
At 9 pm, please PRAY the Most Holy Rosary then end with this Novena.

Please disseminate to as many people as possible.

Spread the word. Make this email VIRAL!

Thanks and God bless.

Bro Toffee

Tonight at 9 pm, please pray the Most Holy Rosary (preferably as a family) then end with this novena (from the Knights of Columbus) addressed to the Holy Trinity through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, under her title of the Immaculate Conception,” who has been the official patroness of the United States. The novena consists of nine days of prayer, starting Oct. 30 (today) and running through November 7, the eve of the election.
 Most Holy Trinity: Our Father in Heaven, who chose Mary as the fairest of you daughters; Holy Spirit, who chose Mary as your Spouse;
God the Son, who chose Mary as your Mother,  in union with Mary we adore your         majesty and acknowledge your supreme, eternal dominion and authority.

Most Holy Trinity, we put the United States of America into the hands of Mary Immaculate in order that she may present the country to you. Through her we wish to thank you for the great resources of this land and for the freedom which has been its heritage.
Through the intercession of Mary, have mercy on the Catholic Church in America. Grant us peace. Have mercy on our president and on all the officers of our government.
Grant us a fruitful economy, born of justice and charity. Have mercy on capital and industry and labor. Protect the family life of the nation. Guard the precious gift of many religious vocations. Through the intercession of our Mother, have mercy on the sick, the tempted, sinners — on all who are in need.

Mary, Immaculate Virgin, our Mother, Patroness of our  land, we praise you and honor you and give ourselves to you. Protect us from every harm. Pray for us that acting always according to your will and the will of your divine Son,
we may live and die pleasing to God.
Amen.
Marriage Enrichment Retreats (MER) I and II in Hawaii

Marriage Enrichment Retreats (MER) I and II in Hawaii

Indeed God is FAITHFUL!  Last October 22-23, 2016 was an unforgettable and blessed weekend for 5 couple-members of Couples for Christ (CFC) Hawaii.  Love conquered them as they renewed their love in a back-to-back Marriage Enrichment Retreats (MER) I and II held at the Saint Anthony Retreat Center in Honolulu. The service team members who spent long hours of planning were all inspired as well. We were also blessed with dedicated leaders and speakers from CFC Southern and Northern California.

The MERs have various elements that work together in order to provide the couple‑participants with an overall environment that is conducive to learning about and living out God’s plan and call to them.  These elements are PRAYER, TEACHINGS, COUPLE DISCUSSIONS AND ACTION PLANNING.

The couple participants were also given time to share their experiences, insights and learning from the retreat.

The summit of the retreat was when the couples proceeded to the Co-Cathedral of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus to attend a Mass and be given a special blessing and renewal of marriage vows by Rev. Father Gregorio Honorio.

The back-to-back MERs were truly life-giving experiences to reaffirm God’s love and mercy to every FAMILY.  The MERs inspired so much hope and brought about healing each couples’ marriage.

In line with the 2016 CFC theme of Rejoice, Pray and Give Thanks, we start this month of October the last of the trilogy with GIVE THANKS for the Right to Vote.

“We need to participate for the common good. Sometimes we hear: a good Catholic is not interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics immerse themselves in politics by offering the best of themselves so that the leader can govern.”

The Christian Life Program is an integrated course intended to lead program participants into a renewed understanding of and response to God’s call to them as Christian couples. The CLP is intended to achieve the following:

  • Bring the participant to repentance and a renewed faith in Jesus.
  • Empower the participant in the Christian life through baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  • Integrate the participant into a strong environment of support and ongoing formation.

CFC would like to thank Rev. Father Nick Brown and the Immaculate Conception Church, Ewa community for all their prayers, help and support with the CLP as well as the whole CFC community.

What is Couples for Christ?
Couples for Christ (CFC) is a movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. It is an association of Christian couples who have committed themselves to the Lord and to one another, so that they may grow into maturity as men and women of God and fulfill their primary vocation of raising up their families under the lordship of Jesus Christ and for the service of the Kingdom of God. Couples for Christ is a work of Christ which raises up Christian couples and establishes Christian families committed to the work of evangelization and winning the world for Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why is such a ministry necessary?
It is God’s plan that the family is the basic unit of society, such that the families determine the condition of society. However, there are many forces in the world today that would, wittingly or unwittingly, destroy the very foundations of the family. CFC wants to rise up in defense of the family which is God’s work. CFC wants to bring God’s strength and light to those who are struggling to be truly Christian families in the modern world.
